| The history of ARAI goes back a long way, starting in 1937 when founder Hirotake Arai produced his first helmets for the domestic market. His son Michio 'Mitch' Arai, the present president of ARAI Helmet took over the family business and introduced the now worldwide known new oval logo of ARAI. In the past the helmets were branded 'H.A.', the initials of the founder. Nowadays these helmets have become treasured collectors items! Today ARAI Helmet exports helmets to more than 40 countries with a workforce of about 25+ people. ARAI quality, safety and design is trend setting for the market. A good example of this dedication is the production of the shell, the heart of a helmet system. It is made of several kinds of resins and superfiber formulated in special combinations developed with exclusive ARAI know-how. The on-going search is for ways to make it stronger, while making it also even lighter. To reach these opposite goals ARAI keeps investing, testing and researching everyday. When we see an iceberg, we notice only 30 percent of their actual size, 70 percent is hidden below the surface and therefore we only see the top. The same is true for an ARAI helmet, you cannot see the development that was needed to create such an outstanding helmet, but it is good to know that it is there. Arai has remained in top form! If you want the top helmet made in the world, you won't go wrong with Arai! Although a worldwide company with over 50 years of helmet manufacturing experience, Arai (pronounced "ah-rye") is still a family-owned business, with a family's pride, and a dedication to quality that simply won't allow them to put their name on anything that isn't the best they can do. The Arai family insists that EVERY Arai helmet be inspected, by hand, at least three times during it construction. In the words of Michio Arai, "How can you say that one person's head is worth more than another's." Arai helmets are virtually hand-made, one at a time, to deliver enviable quality, comfort, fit and balance. And, as to meeting the current DOT and SNELL standards, Arai's own internal standards are so high that the helmets are subjected to twice the number of drops required by SNELL for a helmet to absorb and withstand potentially harmful G-force impact loads passing through the helmet and into the head. Arai believes it is not enough to simply meet the SNELL standards, but to exceed them. ARAI'S 5-YEAR WARRANTY - The best in the industry Perhaps the ultimate demonstration of a company's faith in its product is how strongly it is willing to warranty it. Arai was the first to offer a full 5-year warranty, and still does on all their helmets. For 9 nine years Arai was the only helmet company offering that number of years. WARRANTY "All Arai helmets are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, and as serviceable only for the properly-fitted first user for 5 years of use, but no more than 7 years from date of manufacture. It should be replaced within 5 years of first use." The Warranty is stamped on one side of the leather portion of the chin-strap. The date-of-manufacture (month / year) is stamped on the opposite strap. |
