Comes equipped with tear off posts, for use with plastic tear offs (sold separately). However, you can opt not to use tear-offs with it and just use it for regular street riding.

Arai Genuine Race Shield -
The race shield is a flat, 2 dimensional surface so tear-offs can lay flat on the shield. Two black posts are installed for the tear-offs to attach. The posts are mounted with an off-set screw from the back side, so rider can adjust tension of the tear-off to suit their preferences. Tear-offs are clear thin pre-cut pieces of plastic that can be pulled away from the shield in case of dirt and debris a rider might have built up on the shield.
Tear-offs are sold separately, and come in 2mm, 3mm and 5mm thicknesses.
The Arai shields are formed from Polycarbonate, a high quality & durable plastic. All Arai shields have a hard coating applied to them as well. The best cleaner for all plastic shields is water. If you choose to use other cleaners, be sure to check to make sure it is safe for use on plastics. TSP suggests no matter what cleaner or polish you use, do not spray directly on the shield, helmet or other parts. Spray onto a cloth rag or cleaning cloth of some kind then clean your shield.
